What a wonderful display of animal habitats we have in our hallway! The students, with parent help, did a wonderful job on their habitat projects! I hope everyone can stop by on Thursday evening to see them all.
This week our story is Max and The Big Fish. Our phonics lessons will focus on the digrahs sh and th. This weeks math will be topic 6 on addition facts to 12. It is so hard to believe that we are almost to the end of September! The students are working so hard. I am very proud of the progress we are making. We will be reading
"Animal Park" for our story in reading this week. Our phonics sound is the short u sound. We will continue to work on simple subtraction this week in math. I wanted to remind you that our computer lab will be open every week now for success maker. The hours are from 3:15-6:16 every Monday and Tuesday. Look for upcoming important events below. This week our story will be "Get the Egg!" Our phonics focus will be the short e sound. Please remember that our spelling test will be this Friday, In math, we will finish topic 3 on simple addition. Students should remember to wear red, white, and blue on Wednesday for our Patriotic Day. Welcome back after a surprise break! I am so glad to see all the children back today! Due to the unexpected short week we will not have our homework packet or test on spelling words. We will continue to work on the words in the classroom.
Our story this week is "Fox and a Kit." We will begin talking about habitats this week. In math we will begin working on addition. Please check your child's folder for many important notes that came home today. Progress reports are in your child's folder. We will have our Grandparent's Day on Friday at 2:00. Please see note in your child's folder. I also sent home a note about a habitat project that your child is to make and bring to share. Please keep it simple. It can be made on a poster or a shoebox display. Just have fun and let your child be creative. Projects are due on Sept. 22. Thanks for all you do! This year is off to a wonderful start! |
